Best practices
- The closed control always shows the current value, or a placeholder such as “Choose a group”.
- Options are nouns, sorted in a meaningful order: by frequency, size or alphabetically.
- On phones, open the system picker.
Avoid
- Two to five options that fit on screen. Use a segmented control or a radio group.
- Long lists people search. Use a combobox.
