A text field that suggests matches while people type, and still accepts what they typed.
When to use
Codes and names in search bars and entry tables, where the typed text is valid on its own.
Best practices
- Suggestions appear after the first characters and are reachable with the keyboard (up, down, Return).
- Return with no suggestion highlighted submits what was typed.
Avoid
Choosing one record from a fixed set. Use a combobox.
