Interrupt people only when a task needs their full attention, and always give them a way out.
Best practices
- Use a sheet only when the task is self-contained and short, and return people to where they were.
- One sheet at a time. A choice inside a sheet uses a popover or a pop-up button, never another sheet. A long side task means the sheet should have been a page.
- Every modal view has an obvious way out: Cancel, the close button and Escape.
- Popovers hold a few related controls or a short explanation. One at a time; never a popover on a popover (R10).
- Confirm before discarding edits, never before closing an untouched sheet.
